friday links

It is the July long weekend, already, wow! also half the year has gone by. There is something exciting about the start of summer. Being able to take holidays, wherever that is for you, whether it is a road trip to a beautiful lake, cabin, campground, summer rental, or spending time with friends and relatives for long weekends, or just chilling in your own backyard. The change of pace and scenery refuels us for the next couple of months.

My long weekend agenda is wide open, no pre-planned plans, just going with the flow. How does it get better than that!

Today is charged with energy. It is Friday the 13th, and a full moon, if you are at all superstitious this would be the day to see what comes up!

Olds is having their annual "summeroldstice" next Saturday, June 21. If you have a craft, home business, or a special skill to share book a table and show it off.  In the uptown core there will be vendors, music, entertainers and car show. Something for everyone to see and do.

Woke up to +2 and the furnace going... brrr,

If you are a bedding out plant person and love this time of year to pot up some planters, hanging baskets and flower beds, it never fails to wait until the first full moon of June which is Friday, June 13, for fear of frost and the four letter word SNOW is still possible. My plants are safely tucked in the garage waiting for me this weekend, I have waited long enough!

It seemed like the magazines and books I came across this week all followed the new gadget, techy items available to us. These lights were very cool, and yes I am sure they come with a cost but one can dream.

Rain Rain go away, come again another day.... nice to have the rain to wash away the dust and turn everything vibrant green. The lilacs are starting to bloom, the apple trees are in blossom and the perennials are showing their beauty, ahh the joys of spring.

Graduation is this Saturday in Olds, lots of families dressing in their finest and attending the ceremonies to celebrate the achievements of their son or daughter. As a proud mom of my own grad, I cant wait to go and see the big day that marks his passing of grade 12.

A theme to the links this week, in one word KINDNESS. A very small, simple word that packs a lot of power. Just being kind to yourself and others can truly make a huge impact...

late friday links

The May long weekend is upon us, as many of us will pack up the tents, campers and head to the great outdoors for some R&R, some choose to enjoy the quietness that staying at home in your own back yards brings. Whatever you do with the first long weekend of the season, embrace the longer days, warmer weather budding trees and flowers that are starting to pop up.

Here is a site to find all the campsites in Alberta

The best part of camping is the camp fire and the smores, yummm

friday posts

It is mothers day this Sunday. Reach out and call, email, or better yet spend some time with your special mom this Sunday. I was lucky enough to spend the past weekend with my mom to celebrate it early.

Back from a week holiday, heading into the store on Monday to see all the new consignment that came in while I was away!

Follow reFind on Facebook, there are postings every day on different items in the store.

Spring cleaning is starting at my house, going through cupboards, closets, pantry, drawers and the garage, oh and also the outside flower beds and shed get a good purging. Starting to feel a bit lighter already.

Who better to guide us through a spring cleaning than Martha Stewart...

friday links

Late posting for Friday links, I am away on a holiday and the password was changed! So here goes...

A much needed break to the west coast to see family and some nice greenery, ocean and hiking. As busy as one can become, life is calling for some down time.

April was a great month, a big shout out to all the consignors bringing in fun spring items and to the many customers who came in and found something to add to their spring wardrobe.

Moving onto a new era of parenting, with both kids grown and moving out, this blog brought me back to the joy and wonder of young children
