Uptown shops

For a number of years now the Uptowne Olds committee have been planning and working on reviving the uptown core, and slowly it is coming together. There are plans on adding bench seating, trees, brick walk ways and much more.

There are a number of people that come into the store on a weekly basis that have found us by word of mouth, on-line or just passing by.

I love the vibe of a small well maintained uptown core, the feeling is you can walk and enjoy the uniqueness of the small shops and businesses, and have a enjoyable shopping experience, with some one-on-one assistance.

Happy Monday, start the week off with treating yourself. Set aside a day or a few hours where you can do what makes you smile or just say ahhh.

 

Waking up this morning and catching the sunrise at 7:20am just peaking over the trees, it brought with it the feeling of fall. Wont be long and we will have to turn the clocks back!

This is the time of year that brings new changes, a renewal of the soul.

Everyone is so focused on Jan 1st as the day to bring new starts, reflect on their lives, and let go of patterns that aren't working, but to me the start of fall with its crispness in the air, kids going back to school, schedules in place, spending more time in doors sets it off.

Are you doing something that you are passionate about, or just to pay the bills. Are you spending time with friends that ignite great conversations, and easiness.
Are you spending to much time not really enjoying each day, just plowing through.

There has been an influx of vests and blazers come into the store. All kinds of different styles, perfect time to add one to your fall wardrobe.

Wear one with a tee and jeans, or a collar shirt, also a tank and scarf. Lots of cool ways to add a layer of style!

It is sweater weather, I have at least 6 cardigans in my closet which are the perfect thing to slip over a cute top or tank to keep the chill away.

With the days becoming shorter and the mornings darker, it is a bit of a adjustment to our mental well being. One way to look at it is a time of renewal of cozy evenings with your favorite book, TV series, or family time.

S;pruce up

Over the weekend some very talented elves came and spruced up the store. Adding some new shelving and display lights, looks so cozy and welcoming.

I can hardly believe the amount of fall items that are arriving daily, and with that here are some pictures!

Just in time for the cooler weather ahead, today is the last of our lingering summer temps, it is going to change quickly!
