Was checking my email and facebook posts this morning and my friend had shared this clip from the Teen Awards with Ashton Kutcher, very well said and I think a step up for the celebrity icons!

I remember well my dad's words to me as I started the work force, "don't quit your job until you have another one lined up, and do your best always, if you are washing dishes be the best dishwasher",

His advice has stayed with me always and it has served me well, so I felt re-inspired watching this clip hoping that all the young people take to heart what Ashton was sending out there!

Around town

If you find yourself in town this weekend, there are a few things going on to check out.

During the day on Saturday, Aug 17 at the Olds Museum "The Canada Collection" is being shown 2-5pm

In the evening there is "Movie in the Park" at Centennial Park, feature movie is Epic with the show starting at dusk (9pm), a fund raiser for the Olds Figure Skating Club.

Handbags

I have come to realise that ladies have a very close relationship with their handbags. There are some that like a purse just for its main function of carrying the basic necessities of wallet, cell phone and lipstick, yet another that needs the bag to multi-purpose holding everything they may need for the day, glasses, books, notepad, ipad, phone, wallet, makeup, gum, etc., and another who may want the bag for arm candy with its color, style and bling to be their accessory for the day. 

We never seem to have just one purse or bag, it is nice to be able to switch them up as our mood for the day dictates.

Whatever the style, shape, color or size of your handbag it shows a small part of your personality, have fun with them!

Denim

There is a feeling of being cool and casual when wearing denim. It is a staple in ones closet.

Pair these with some funky short boots, flip flops, sandals, and some fun accessories like bangles.

Shoes

How many pairs of shoes do you own?

I have a love hate relationship with my shoes, I have never been one to go shoe crazy, but after cleaning out my modest shoe collection realized that one style dominates over my wedges, flats, short boots, tall boots, sandals, sling backs and that is my converse sneakers :) Love them, they come in all sorts of bright colors and in my opinion go with almost everything.

Local Talent

Justin Schafer is an alternative indie artist who has been playing the guitar and singing for 11 years.  He opened up on stage for artists like Jake Matthews, Dwayne Steel, Samantha King and Pair.  On August 5, 2013, he released a demo album containing five of his original guitar and vocal sound tracks through Bowtown Music in Calgary, AB.

We have some of his CD's in store for sale $8.00 each.
